Installation
The process of installing a 100% electric ARION motor
Designed for quick and easy assembly, the ARION motor is “plug and play”, only 3 key components need to be installed. In addition, as it will have been sized and tested on a test bench, the installation will take place in the best conditions.
Preparing the boat
If it is a retrofit, we will remove all the components of your old engine to create the space needed for your new ARION electric motor.
Installing the internal elements
We will then install the energy management system and the battery bank, divided according to the specifications and regulations in force, in order to respect the center of gravity and the waterline.
Installing the motor
We will place the ARION electric motor in the dedicated space in the boat's hull, then connect it to the rest of the system and to the transmission in “plug and play” mode.
Checks, tests & training
Finally, we will carry out validation tests in real conditions. We will also train you on the use and maintenance of the electrical system.

Maintenance & maintenance: what are the differences between a hybrid engine and ARION?
The ARION hybrid engine combines the advantages of an electric motor with the flexibility of a thermal system. Although requiring a little more maintenance than a purely electric motor, it is still less restrictive than a traditional combustion engine. We ensure that interventions remain simple and infrequent.
Need more information?
A technical question, missing information, or a simple curiosity?
Are there subsidies for electric motors?
Indeed, you can benefit from subsidies for the conversion of your boat to electric. The amount of these subsidies varies according to your navigation sector and your type of boat. If you are sailing inland, you will find all the information you need on our grants page. If you operate in the maritime sector, we also have specific information for you.
What are the safety standards for electric motors?
Our electric motors comply with ESTRIN standards for inland waterways and the division (regulation) that concerns you for maritime transport, everything depends on the type of your boat. All our boats are certified IP 67 (Waterproof up to 1 m deep for 30 min), CE (Electrical Compliance) and CM (Marine Compliance) certified.
What is the maintenance difference between electric and thermal motors?
Electric motors require less maintenance than internal combustion engines due to their mechanical simplicity (fewer moving parts) and the absence of certain critical components such as oil filters, spark plugs, etc. Electric motor maintenance focuses primarily on maintaining electronic systems, batteries, and the motors themselves, with less need for mechanical adjustments or frequent replacement of parts.
How do I maintain my electric motor?
To maintain your electric boat motor at Weenav, no regular maintenance is necessary except for a periodic visual check of the exchanger. This ensures reliable operation and minimizes repair needs thanks to the robust design and reliability of the electric motor.
How much does it cost to maintain an electric motor?
Around €500 for every 20,000 hours of navigation. This is a general estimate of the maintenance cost for an electric boat motor. This amount may vary depending on the specifics of the engine, conditions of use, and local labor and spare parts rates.
