Retrofit: Transform your boat to 100% electric or hybrid

Has your boat's traditional internal combustion engine reached its lifespan? Do you want to re-engine-it with a new internal combustion engine when clean and more efficient solutions exist?

The retrofit

What is a retrofit?

Boat retrofitting is an innovative and ecological solution that consists in modernizing the systems and equipment of an existing boat. By integrating advanced technologies and optimizing performance, retrofitting offers a new life to your boat while respecting the environment.

Modernization of the motorization

Retrofitting involves the replacement of internal combustion engines with latest-generation electric or hybrid motors. These engines are more environmentally friendly and offer better reliability and performance.

Equipment update

During the retrofit, the boat is equipped with modern technologies such as advanced energy management systems, touch interfaces for controlling onboard systems, and fast charging solutions, making the boat more efficient and user-friendly.

Performance improvement

The retrofit optimizes the boat's capabilities for smoother and more ecological navigation. New integrated technologies improve speed, maneuverability, and fuel efficiency, providing a better navigation experience
Benefits

The benefits of retrofitting

Boat retrofitting combines savings, ecology, sustainability and comfort. Lower your costs with minimal maintenance and long engine life. Enjoy quiet and vibration-free navigation, while contributing to the protection of the environment through reduced emissions. Robust electrical systems ensure optimal and long-lasting performance.

Economical

The initial retrofit cost is offset by substantial savings in the long run. Electric motors require less maintenance and have a longer lifespan, reducing maintenance and repair costs.

Durable

Electrical systems are more durable than their thermal counterparts. With extended life and increased wear resistance, your boat stays performing for longer.

Environment

Retrofitting considerably reduces greenhouse gas emissions and hydrocarbon pollution, contributing to the protection of the environment and the fight against climate change.

Experiment

Electric motors work much quieter than internal combustion engines, eliminating annoying noises and vibrations. This improves comfort on board, making boat trips more enjoyable for passengers.

Need more information?

A technical question, missing information, or a simple curiosity?
What high performance electric motors are available?
We offer two types of engines; an outboard motor and an inboard motor, each engine is offered in different powers. Our most efficient inboard engine reaches 500 horsepower, while for the outboard motor reaches 300 horsepower. These options ensure optimal performance for a diverse range of marine applications.
Are electric boat motors reliable?
Electric boat motors are very reliable because of their simplified design: they have around 100 times fewer moving parts than a combustion engine, which reduces wear and requires less maintenance. They have no translational parts, only rotating parts, which significantly reduces wear.
How long does it take to install an electric motor?
The installation time for an electric motor can vary from 2 days for small boats, to 1 month for larger ones. The installation time also depends on the type of engine chosen, the installation of an inboard will take longer than that of an outboard. This estimate takes into account the complexity of the integration, the necessary adjustments and the coordination with the shipyard.
What financing options are available for electric motors?
Zero-interest loans are available through sector-specific organizations. We can put you in touch with them. Banks also offer financing options, but with more traditional rates.
What is the long-term profitability of an electric motor?
The profitability of an electric motor is achieved within a period of less than 7 years (subsidies not included). This can be achieved by amortizing savings in fuel and maintenance costs compared to a combustion engine. The return on investment will depend on the use of the boat and the specific operating conditions.
