Installation
The process of installing an ARION engine on a hybrid system
Designed for quick and easy installation, the hybrid system is “plug and play”, with only 3 key components to install. In addition, the engine will be adapted for the clutch or the shaft line according to your boat, and will have been sized and tested on a test bench, guaranteeing installation in the best conditions.
Preparing the boat
If it is a retrofit, we will remove all the components of your old engine to create the space necessary for your new hybrid system, whether it is thermal, hydrogen, biogas or other.
Installing the internal elements
We will then install the energy management system and the battery bank, divided according to the specifications and regulations in force, in order to respect the center of gravity and the waterline.
Installing the motor
We will place the hybrid engine in the dedicated space in the boat's hull, adapted to the clutch or shaft line, then connect it to the rest of the system and to the transmission in “plug and play” mode.
Checks, tests & training
Finally, we will carry out validation tests in real conditions. We will also train you on the use and maintenance of the hybrid system, whether it works with electricity, hydrogen, biogas or any other alternative fuel.
Interview
How do you maintain a hybrid system?
The maintenance of a hybrid system combines that of the electrical part and that of the thermal part, hydrogen or biogas, but the latter is becoming much less frequent. The electric motor optimizes the system and reduces the frequency of maintenance.
Electrical part maintenance
The reduction of mechanical elements makes it possible to considerably reduce engine maintenance. Apart from changing bearings and maintaining the transmission after 20,000 hours, interventions are almost non-existent, with only occasional software updates.
Other system maintenance
The use of electric motorization makes it possible to use the thermal, hydrogen or biogas engine less, thus reducing its wear and tear. This reduces maintenance costs, with less need for transmission maintenance, replacement of worn parts, and bearing management.
Lifespan
Maintenance & maintenance: How does Weenav extend the life of your ARION hybrid engine?
From the moment of purchase, the ARION engine in hybrid version is synonymous with quality and reliability.
Maintenance & repairs
One of the great advantages of hybrid systems with ARION is the reduction in maintenance compared to thermal-only systems. However, to ensure optimal performance, we offer regular checks.

Assistance
Our intelligent system makes it possible to carry out certain assistance elements remotely.
Mobile application connected to the boat
Remote software maintenance possible
Online malfunction detection with notifications
Maintenance & maintenance: what are the differences for a 100% electric ARION motor?
The 100% electric ARION motor is distinguished by its ease of maintenance and its exceptional reliability. Unlike internal combustion engines, it requires very few regular interventions, which reduces costs and constraints for owners. Maintenance is simple and software updates ensure optimal operation.

A technical question, missing information, or a simple curiosity?
Are electric motors sustainable at sea?
Yes, our electric motors are designed for use at sea and are therefore durable. They are certified waterproof and resistant to salt spray, which extends their lifespan. Engines can last up to 100,000 hours, subject to regular and proper maintenance.
How often should an electric motor be maintained?
The frequency of maintenance of an electric motor depends on several factors, including the intensity of use and environmental conditions. In general, a complete overhaul is recommended every 20,000 hours of navigation.
What is the long-term profitability of an electric motor?
The profitability of an electric motor is achieved within a period of less than 7 years (subsidies not included). This can be achieved by amortizing savings in fuel and maintenance costs compared to a combustion engine. The return on investment will depend on the use of the boat and the specific operating conditions.
What are the new electric propulsion technologies?
New propulsion technologies start with the improvement of LFP batteries with ultra-stable chemistry allowing 3500 charge/discharge cycles against 1200 previously.
Our MSAP motor (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) is approaching perfection in terms of efficiency thanks to recent technological advances. The energy management system that we have specially developed with Garmin to meet maximum needs is also a new technology proposed.
Being able to recycle components is also a real advance in reducing the environmental impact of your navigation.
Finally, fast charging technology is also a novelty in the world of electric boating.

Do electric motors present a fire hazard?
Electric boat motors generally have less risk of fire compared to internal combustion engines, mainly due to their electrical operation without internal combustion. In addition, Weenav equipment is standardized and certified, which minimizes potential risks.
