Need more information?
A technical question, missing information, or simple curiosity?
Are there subsidies for electric motors?
Indeed, you can benefit from subsidies for the conversion of your boat to electric. The amount of these subsidies varies according to your navigation sector and your type of boat. If you are sailing inland, you will find all the information you need on our grants page. If you operate in the maritime sector, we also have specific information for you.
What is the cost of converting a combustion engine into an electric motor (Retrofit)?
The cost of retrofitting a boat varies according to the size of the boat, the power of the electric motor chosen and the desired autonomy. The price of the electric motor can be between €36,500 and €89,900, depending on the type of motor, to which must be added the cost of the necessary batteries. These prices may also vary depending on the technical specifications and options chosen for your conversion to an electric motor and the price of batteries on the market at the time of purchase.
How can I finance the conversion of my professional fleet into electric motors?
You can finance the conversion of your professional fleet through a loan granted by your bank or another, or via a zero interest loan offered by Weenav's partner organizations.
Are electric motors suitable for protected marine areas?
Weenav electric motors are perfectly suited to maritime areas with thermal restrictions because they do not emit any pollutants directly into the waters. They produce no oils, no gasoline, no CO2, no odors, and are also remarkably quiet. This makes them particularly environmentally friendly and suitable for maintaining marine ecosystems in these areas.
What are the safety standards for electric motors?
Our electric motors comply with ESTRIN standards for inland waterways and the division (regulation) that concerns you for maritime transport, everything depends on the type of your boat. All our boats are certified IP 67 (Waterproof up to 1 m deep for 30 min), CE (Electrical Compliance) and CM (Marine Compliance) certified.
